Call it a "stubborn turf disease" but find out what the cause is before it gets to the point of having to redo the whole green.
For the last 20 years I have worked for Agro Services International doing their nematode analysis and their soil report programing. In March they reduced me to a per-nematode-sample basis pay, so I have decided to seek business on my own.
Take at least five nematode samples as explained below and email me with the weight and dimensions and I will have them picked up or send them to me with proof of your shipping cost and I will deduct those cost from the total charge of doing your nematode analysis, which is $20.00 per sample. (Continental US only)
| Take random soil plugs from the fading edges of the worst areas of the green. About a half cup of soil and roots should be placed in a Hefty OneZip slider quart size storage bag. Clearly label the bag with a sample number or identification. The samples should be moist, not soggy. Keep the samples cool in the refrigerator until ready to ship.
Buy a white Styrofoam container at the supermarket ( a 15 1/2 x 10 x 13 inch I.D should cost less than $5.00). Fill a normal size drinking water bottle to the very top and place it in the freezer with the lid off. After the water bottle is frozen solid hold the mouth of the bottle under the tap horizontally and dissolve any extra ice sticking out from the top, then put the cap on and tighten. When ready to ship wrap the water bottle in a section of Newspaper (3 sheets) and place in the bottom of the Styrofoam container. Place the labeled nematode samples around and on top of the wrapped frozen plastic drinking bottle. Fill the extra space with loosely crumpled newspaper. Print the form at this link and fill in the information and place in a sealed hefty bag in the container. Be sure to put in an email address where I can send the (pdf formatted) Nematode Analysis reports as attachments in an email, along with the invoice. We are not set up to receive credit cards. Payment can be made with a company check. The Styrofoam container should be securely wrapped with duct tape all the way around the middle both directions and around the circumference of the lid seam. Send the container 2nd day air or 3 day select by UPS or your preferred carrier.
